Ethiopian National Holidays Observed by The Ethiopian World Federation

We celebrate the birthday of Emperor Haile Selassie I, born on July 23, 1892, as a significant occasion. He is recognized as the Last Paramount King of the Sovereign continent of Africa and the founding father of the Ethiopian World Federation. This important day is observed as a national holiday from July 21-24 each year.

The Ethiopian World Federation, founded on August 25, 1937, was certified by The Supreme Court in New York City on this significant day. We observe this day as a National Holiday in honor of our mission to protect the Human rights, Traditional rights, and Cultural rights of African people globally, a goal inspired by Emperor Haile Selassie I and the principles of human life and endeavor.

Meskel is an Ethiopian holiday that commemorates the discovery of The Ark of The Covenant in the fourth century. This significant day is celebrated as our first national holiday, a request made by our founding mothers and fathers for our Black Government, much like the values upheld by Emperor Haile Selassie I and the Ethiopian World Federation.
